Tenerife Climate

Tenerife is known internationally as the “Island of Eternal Spring” (Isla de la Eterna Primavera).The island, being on a latitude of the Sahara Desert and Florida, enjoys a warm climate year-round with an average of 20-25 °C in the winter and 25-30 °C in the summer and high sunshine totals. The island is approximately 2000 miles south of mainland Spain.

August is the hottest month in Tenerife with an average temperature of 24°C (75°F) and the coldest is January at 17°C (62°F) with the most daily sunshine hours at 9 in August. The wettest month is December with an average of 52mm of rain. The best month to swim in the sea is in September when the average sea temperature is 24°C (75°F).
